Okay kid, you made it this far…..despite crawling into many situations that could have been fatal had your mother not had her wits about her. Like the time I found you eating dog kibble and swimming in the dog’s dish…..mmmm….was that good?
How about the time I caught you eating dirt out of the plant in the kitchen. Daddy still has yet to move that thing…..oy!
You are uber-curious about everything and it reminds me alot of Dylan as a baby. Except I was 6 years younger. And thinner. And faster. And probably smarter. Well you get the point.
Yes I know this entry is a week late but it’s late because I’m been chasing after you like mad lately. And besides, if I want to make this entry a week late, all I have to say to you is “Because I said so.” Ha. I get to do that because I’m Mommy and you are child.
And what a child you are. You are babbling things like “Daza Daza Daza,” “Ya ya ya ya” and “ppppppbbbbbbbsttsssttsppppppppbbbpppppppp” which I’m pretty sure means “It’s all about me Mom.”
You stand at the coffee table and are starting to get brave by removing one hand and kinda swinging there like, “I could totally walk if I wanted to.” Which, I’m sure you will be doing sooner than I’d like, however, go for it kid. I could stand to lose a few pounds. Or 50.
You are eating a million different things now. Last night you dined on Kraft Dinner and hot dogs and LOVED IT. I know you are young, but boy oh boy kid, you love to eat anything. Your favorites right now include strawberry yogurt, cheerios and Ruffy. The sweet furry creature you attack lies there like nothing is happening while you pull her fur and her jowels. She knows if she so much as opened her mouth about it, I would sell her to Eskimos so she’d be doing cold, hard manual labour for the rest of her life instead of eating cereal off the carpet every morning and sleeping on the couch after she thinks we are asleep. She is a little trickster Thomas. Watch yer back dude. She loves to sit under your high chair every meal until something drops. Our little Filter Queen Vacuum keeps these floors cleaner than me!
Well Mister Man, the whole time I’ve written this, I’ve removed you from under the desk 15 times. You like to pull the keyboard wire and make me try and type without a keyboard. Hey, Mommy is smart and all, but I don’t exactly walk on water babe. Lay off on my Vaio.
Happy 9 months little man. Mommy and Daddy think you are the bomb. And now that you are totally into solid foods - dude, you smell like a bomb too!

I wondered about you ever since Dooce closed Comments.
The little guys are adorable! and 5 years is a nice age span–our oldest and youngest got along better than middle did with anybody.
Chasing youngsters takes energy. I would not have been able to carry on a weblog when my boys were the ages yours are now. I barely got my crochet done, so another hobby would never have worked.

Awww thanks for writing! I haven’t updated mine is ages…….Thomas is 1 now and mobile…..yikes! We are having a very busy, fun summer and we’re taking off again tomorrow for 10 days at my gramma’s. Dylan and my Papa will be best buddies for a week, fishing and boating…….yay!
