Do you know Mir? You know her, she’s the one who calls everyone pretty. When I first started designing her new blog, Want Not, she kept calling me pretty in nearly every email. I thought it was sweet, and it made me feel good. Really good. I started spending more time at the mirror. I plucked my eyebrows to perfection, and made modeling poses in the grocery store window. Mir, I feel like a woman…..
Well I started reading her personal blog, Woulda Coulda Shoulda and I quickly realized, I wasn’t the only pretty one. She was even calling other women pretty at BlogHer.
I felt used.
Violated.
I knew I wasn’t the prettiest, but I wanted to believe her sweet little compliment so badly, I overlooked her pretty-ing around with just everyone. I am pretty, dammit. I just haven’t been told by anyone other than hubby in a while and I was ready to run off and make out with her.
I fell in love with Mir’s personal blog and read it every day. Then the design for Want Not was completed and I fell in love all over again. I read the entire blog, including her very funny About Page. Mir is a single Mom to two kids, and if anyone would know how to “have it all with less,” she would. I threw her my best challenge (groceries, especially snacks for lunches), thinking, “That’ll teach her for not keeping the pretty monogamy with me.”
Well see, if you get to know Mir, you’ll soon find out that she is really effing smart. She took my challenge, a clusterfook of sorts, a challenge I face every week, and she spanked it until it was red. Then she wrapped it up in a diaper and put it to bed. Yes she did. Wham, Bam, I saved you a few Clams. Next!

Oh, Karen, you ARE pretty! And, I never say that to anyone except my daughters. :o)

You are very pretty, in fact you’re one hot momma!! hhahaha! I have proof too, remember Pimple Juice from the gas station and Kevin from Blockbusters??
