Calgary!

We’re here and having an awesome time.? Dylan’s first flight (since he was a baby) was really cool because watching your kids discover the world is so amazing and heartwarming.? He was enthralled with the security check, pre-flight.? He asked Nicole and I SO MANY TIMES about what would happen if the metal detectors went off.? We told him they wouldn’t, because he had absolutely no metal on him, but warned him that if it did, he had to keep quiet about his secret ninja abilities.? He thought that was funny, but clearly he was very nervous about getting into trouble with the law.
Once on the plane, he was anxious to get the plane going.? We had a thunderstorm the night before and lightning had hit the runway, so we sat in the plane while they patched the hole.? The pilot explained that we had to wait for this because the other runway was too short for the weight of the plane.? Nicole said, “Well I can get off!”? Silly girl. And yes, we only have 2 runways in my city.
?
Once in the air, Dylan took pictures of the view from above the clouds.? He wanted to know just exactly where Heaven was, and if it was possible to play on the clouds.? I wish we could have - the view was amazing.

??
When we flew over the prairies Dylan exclaimed, “The world looks like a big jigsaw puzzle!”
?
?
Just watching him discover the world through his eyes brought tears to my eyes.? I’m so glad we’re getting this time together.? Simply beautiful.
?
When was the last time a child in your life changed the way you look at something?

I loved this entry, because it allows me a clear view of the “mom” in you, rather than Party Girl Roommate that I know from BlogHer.
Also, I think Dylan’s remark about the world being a jigsaw puzzle is profound. There’s definitely a lesson there for all of us.

oh man, i love this. it’s so sweet and innocent. i think blake changes the way i look at things all the time. how he isn’t judgemental, but just says things as simply as he sees them. it’s just different when it’s a childs point of view, you know?

Wow, funny…I always think of giant jigsaw puzzles when I see views like that, too. Cute.
