Pedophlia is the New Small Dog in a Purse? That’s NOT hawt.
September 28, 2006
Dear Paris Hilton,
I recently watched your new music video, Nothing In This World on YouTube. I cannot believe that the part of the boy, was apparently about 14. He looked younger than that, by the way. Now I’m no prude. I know boys dream about stars, especially in their teen years. I get the point there.
What I don’t get is why, in this music video, you are all over his bed, IN YOUR UNDERWEAR, stroking his cheek, and later grinding up against him IN YOUR UNDERWEAR. Pedophilia is already a huge problem around the world, and for you to glamourize it like it’s some kind of new hot thing is irresponsible and wrong.

Sure, most pedophiles are men. I’ve seen the statistics. But the Mary Kay Letourneau dancing on your desk moves? Sick. Sick. Sick. You’re 25 years old Paris. Smarten up.
“Nothing in this world can stop us tonight????” In the words of Perverted Justice, “It’s wrong to try to fuck little kids.” I hope the Moms and Dads of this world stop you cold in your tracks.
Sincerely,
Karen Rani
Mom of two boys

I don’t like that video. I don’t like any of her videos, really. She just got a music deal because she’s Paris Hilton, she has no talent. At all.
Anyway…I’m just crabby today, but I couldn’t agree with you more, Karen!!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:16 pm
I totally agree! She is in need of a good whipping. Its bad enough that you hear about pedophillia on tv every night, but here she is practically promoting it. if you ask me, her parents didnt beat, i mean spank her enough as a kid!
September 28th, 2006 at 3:09 pm
If she were a man, she’d be in jail for that crap.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:23 pm
Also? The boy in the video looks eerily like Kirsten Dunst. Which would be disturbing even if, you know, Paris Hilton wasn’t already the pinnacle of disturbing.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:40 pm
Karen, you rock! I can’t stand that bitch! Isn’t her 15 minutes up yet?
September 28th, 2006 at 5:09 pm
At the beginning of the video, when the kid is getting his head shoved in the toilet, I think that blonde girl is Paris’ new BFF Elisha Cuthbert. What the hell is wrong with them? So she thinks she’s every nerdy boy’s fantasy woman? Fine, but I agree, crawling around on the bed and the whole slutty teacher thing is just wrong.
September 28th, 2006 at 5:37 pm
I wrote a big long comment about why I disagree (shock) and lost it. So, I’ll just say Madonna took shit for Open Your Heart. That video did not offend me either.
This offends me:
Into the Night by Benny Mardones
Because if you just hear the Hilton song, nothing in there suggests child (teen) related anything…but that one does.
September 28th, 2006 at 6:14 pm
I. Hate. Paris. Hilton.
Everything about the woman offends me.
I tried to watch “The Simple Life” once (fairly recently), when she was supposed to be a housewife? There was this little girl that started *drowning* in her backyard pool. Luckily someone else was there and jumped into the camera frame and pulled the girl out of the water. Paris just stood there looking like the vacuous fem-bot whore that she is.
September 28th, 2006 at 7:15 pm
ugh. I echo the earlier commenter who said if she was a man she’d be arrested. this is stupid.
color me happy I’m totally out of touch with current music videos and that my girls are too young to be interested too. bleh.
September 28th, 2006 at 8:14 pm
First, Paris Whoreton, err, Hilton, has ZERO talent. I’m sorry, dry humping a CHILD in your underwear is NOT talent. It’s fucking sick. Hey now, if that was a TWENTY-FIVE year old MAN dry humping a little 14 year old girl, while wearing a pair of tighty whitey’s would we think it was cool? No. And for Paris to glamourize the sluttly teacher, I’m gonna strip for you on my desk, while I turn on my 14 year old students, is gross. It’s time to hang it up Paris.
September 28th, 2006 at 8:15 pm
Oh PS. I’d like to punch the bitch in her fucking lazy eye.
September 28th, 2006 at 9:11 pm
I’ve had 6 different people (that i know offline…you know, here) and all of them say the same thing.
It’s about a kid having a fantasy about a hot chick. (or in Paris’ case, a fugly chick helped with a whole freakin lot of mary kay.)
So, ‘my’ people say the same thing…it’s a video trying to tell a story.
a-yup.
Either it’s a mommy thing or it’s just one of those “everything offends somebody” things.

Holy crap that’s nauseating. I agree that she has no talent, but my mate has something different to say.
He says that he was, as a young boy, attracted to older women, and at 16 had relations with quite a few women “over the legal age line”, and he never felt used, abused, or anything else negative about it for that matter. He sees no problem with people past puberty having consensual relations with one-another.
As a father though, he’d kill any male who comes within looking distance of his daughters if he thought said male might be desirous of them.
I think dislike of Paris Hilton is a given for anyone with taste, I think her video was a sad failed attempt at shocking storytelling madonna-style, and I think parents who are upset about it aren’t so much upset about what or why, but where. In public, by someone people think is glamourous, trying to make it seem sexy or kind to sexually entice (or more) young, prepubescent children.
September 29th, 2006 at 9:20 am
I haven’t seen music videos in YEARS, mostly because so many of them are so inappropriate for kids and my kids are usually around me when we watch any sort of tv.
As a mother of prepubescent sons it sickens me. They most certainly ARE children, and as such should not be sexualized in any way.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I didn’t realize this would end up a debate, but that’s okay - I respect what everyone has said.
Miss Ann - your last comment, “Either it s a mommy thing or it s just one of those everything offends somebody things.”
I disagree entirely. Sexualization of children is wrong, period. A few people made the point that what if the genders were reversed? Also, that song you posted was disgusting. I’d never heard of it before, but it made me angry.
So no, it’s not a Mommy thing, it’s a very blunt way of saying that as a citizen of this world, I will not accept sexualization of children. Ever.
September 29th, 2006 at 12:47 pm
I agree with you Karen, its never ok to sexualize a child. They are supposed to be innocent! I have no childeren, so its definetly not a mommy thing.
This was a great post, Im glad you put it!

there is no word big enough to encapsulate the fury of the hate i feel for her. HATE.

[...] 4) I can’t believe everyone is buying all my publicity stunts. First the sex tape, then the fake break-up with Nicole, now my pedophile music video. I am SO frikking smart. I’m going to be rich foreva. Now if I could just get the stains out of the back of my coat. Damn laxatives. [...]

Hey, Karen,
Sorry I’m late to the party, as usual, but just wanted you to know that I agree with you. I have 3 sons, in three different stages. One is 21, and I’ve had to watch while his sexuality took it’s twists and turns…it was hard enough without MTV or VH-1. Then enter my middle schooler..all of 11, asking all kinds of questions, and I’m having to BLOCK MTV and VH-1 off of his tv, just because I think he’s going to get exposed to it without me around enough as it is.
But yeah, the whole seduction idea goes through every boys’ head, why promote it?
And for the record, I am lost…is Paris just a celebrity, or is she supposed to be a real recording artist?
September 30th, 2006 at 10:42 pm
All I can say is….what the f?
October 6th, 2006 at 1:39 pm
I dunno, I don’t see it as sexualization here… The kid is having a fantasy. The video is supposed to be his fantasy.
I wouldn’t fantasize about Paris Hilton. But when I was 14.. Well, I can’t remember who I fantasized about, but it might have looked like a music video. MTV (well, MuchMusic, in my case) culture and all.
