I have seen previews for this show, but have not watched it. I guess for me it’s frustrating because I don’t understand how you let your kids become obese in such a deadly way.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not on a high horse. My kids do not eat healthy on a daily basis. Alex is very picky with what he will eat and so there is only so much I can do. The girls are very easy as they love almost all foods. We hit fast food on occasions. They do eat candy, but usually when given a choice they will take fruit, veggies or low fat string cheese.
The difference is that my kids play outside, they exercise and our school has a great system for teaching nutrition and exercising. Including a calendar from our P.E. department with different activities for ever day for the entire family to do at home.
My kids see me doing yoga and love trying it with me. One of our favorite activities outside is to race around the house to see who can do the most laps, play soccer or make up weird exercises to see who can pull them off.
I’m very tired of parents blaming things on restaurants, t.v., game makers and every other excuse under the sun. They are your children, your responsibility. I’m sorry but unless your child has a valid medical reason for being obese, the only excuse that is real is that you allowed it to happen and enabled your child to become that way.
