Happy Smooth Beaver Day
July 1, 2007

Yeah so Happy Canada Day, bitches.
I love Canada Day.? What I don’t love is the fact that my birthday is in three days.? I don’t know why, but turning 33 is kind of upsetting me this year.? I got upset at 27, but not 30.? Granted, at 30, I was T minus 4 days from this:

So I probably was a little more focused on sore nipples than turning 30.
It has been the busiest week of our lives here.? We’re frantically trying to get the house ready for the market, I have 24 clients I’m juggling, I’m getting my avatar makeovers lined up for BlogHer in Second Life, and Thomas is potty training (YAY!), so most of my time has been spent on the bathroom floor with Matilda (the laptop).? Damn my ass is sore.
And damn, my ass is getting old.? 33?? When the fuck did that happen?
I’m going to pour a glass of wine and pretend I’m 23 again.? Of course lately, I’ve been getting my hangover headache during drinking.? Overachiever.
Oh and just for a laugh, check out the mountain before I gave birth to it:
Nice hair.
Nice hair.? Ugh.
Clearly too tired to do hair.
Also, I did not make it to 40 weeks.? Look at that belly!? Whoa Mama!
I cannot believe Thomas is 3 in a week.? WOW.

Happy early b-day to you both! And happy Canada day!!!
You looked so cute preggers!

Happy birthday to the both of you! You are adorable pregnant. I am finding that the wierdest birthdays are hard for me too. Funny enough, 27 was one for me, as was 32 (but also not 30 - I think because I didn’t really “feel” 30). Every time I point out the fact that I’m 32 I gasp like I can’t possibly be talking about myself. I know I’m not old, but I’m definately an adult.

Thanks Chris!
Ha ha Cakehead…I think the same thing - 32 seems old.

That sign is awesome! As is the 36 week hair. Really, better than 36 week hair has any right to be. bitch. And shut about about 33 being old. I will never see 33 again, AND I’M NOT OLD!

Ohhhh 32. I’m going to be 39 next month, so bite me. You look great. Happy Canada day.

I drank two beers last night and started getting a headache immediately. I think I need to switch to wine.
On my birthday next month, I’ll be 29. I still think of myself as a kid. I’m not sure when I’ll ever see myself as an adult. I even see other people my age and think, “Wow, they’re so grown up.” I guess not even a kid, an across three state move, a mortgage, 3 dogs, a husband, and a manager title make me feel like an adult.

I really like your hair in the 36 week pic.

You look cute pregnant. I just always looked like a whale. Or like I swallowed a 45 year old man whole.
Happy Canada Day!

You look adorable even that big. I’ve got to show you how i looked at 38 weeks when my daughter was already 10 lbs!! NO ONE would say I was adorable. Happy Birthday to you both. And Karen, 33 is not old. I second the comment above - bite me. I’m 36. And it’s better than the alternative. NEVER thought I’d say that.

I know I should respect my elders, but stop giving me shit for saying 33 is old.
*ducks and runs*

Dude, nice overalls!
Happy Canada Day! We got in free to our closest National Park today so that was way cool. Twenty bucks to spend on ice cream for the fam!
Good luck with the house!

Oh to be 33 again
Happy Birthday–what a lovely preggo you were!

Speaking as someone who will be turning 34 in exactly one week from yesterday, Sunday, 33 isn’t old…
34 on the other hand…

1) VERY cute preggo belly
2) wax your beaver - Even *I* a staunch non believer in waxing might fall for that marketing ploy. you Canadians are a clever and fun bunch!

If you think the depression at 33 is bad, wait until 40, I’m 39 and counting down the last 4 months. Who knows where it all went? But I guess we’ve still got a few years before they plant us. Let’s make the most of those. I am personally living for the post-children phase of my life. My oldest is almost 14 and it will be cool to see them all grown up and having kids of their own.

For your birthday, pick something out online and I’ll order it for you
with your money. Seriously though, what do you want darling cousin of mine?At least you don’t look 33, you look extremely young and hot. My friends all thought you were my age and just with a really old guy and knocked up young. Ya. Thats what they said to me. No word of a lie. I wouldn’t tell Daren that if I were you…I don’t want him kicking my ass - I’ve got 3 camping weekends in a row coming up. I need my ass. To sit on it. And do nothing.
But ya, you’re one hot mama. Happy Canada’s Day darling! I hope the fireworks didn’t scare the beaver…I mean children.
P.S your hair in the 36 weeks looks sorta like my hair…weird.

Hey, everyone stop whining about your weeny ages. I’m 52 and life is far better than when I was in my 20s/30s/40s.
And, I have a teenager. Who just got her license. Given that ultimate parenting challenge, if I say life is still good, then that has to be the truth.
But forget about my ranty lectures. Happy Birthday to you, most excellent Karen. I look forward to anointing your feet and bowing down to you at BlogHer. I think you’re great at any age. So, there.
xoxoxo

So you’re birthday is on the 4th of July? Too bad you’re not American if only for the parties and celebrations that occur on your b-day every year!
And 33 is soooo young. Wait until you’re pushing 40 like me!
