Ditching The X
April 21, 2008
Awwww yeah baby.
I finally said goodbye, sayonara, adios, cheerio, arrivederci, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, do not pass go, do not collect $200, and get the fuck outta here to my X.
I held on to my X for a LONG time. I clung to how my X my me feel, cozy, safe, covered.
I clung to my 2X and 1X during and after being pregnant with Thomas.
WELL NO MORE. Finally, after nearly 4 years, I have BROKEN FREE of my X:
No more 2X, no more 1X, no more XL.
Oh yeah baby.
I’m officially *just* a large now. It is SO nice to buy a large off the rack and not worry about how it will bunch in the middle, strain over my arms and shoulders, and stretch across my chest.
Goodbye X, hello L!
…and LOOK OUT M! I’m coming for ya!
p.s. I lost 3 more pounds in the last week. SHWEET.
p.p.s. My results aren’t back from the doctor yet. I had the tests taken on Friday.
p.p.p.s. Mylie is still not home. We think someone else has fallen in love with her. Honestly, we’re mostly okay with it. The truth is, she bit Thomas’ face the night she disappeared (we were at softball, the sitter was here) and she was very hard to train though we did make a lot of progress with her. I hate to say this, because maybe it makes me a shitty dog Mama, but when the bite happened, Daren and I both figured that was the last straw for her.
I’ve always maintained that any dog that bites our kids (or anyone, really) would not be our dog anymore. I didn’t expect her to bolt like she did, but I’m hoping someone sweet, patient and kind has found her anyway. I don’t really care what anyone thinks of my attitude about this - of course we miss her - and sure I would have found her a good home (I still will if she does make her way back to us), but the law in this house is that our kids are our # 1 priority. Period.
p.p.p.p.s. Miss Ann has posted the winners of the raffle to send Lisa to Disneyland as well as the total $$ raised. Awesome job, internets!

Like I said, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! Can you bottle that motivation? Cause if you can, I want to buy some.
On the dog thing? I can’t see how you can choose your kids over a dog! (That was my complimentary Psycho Comment of the day. You’re welcome).

Way to go on the X! You’re inspiring me. Need an online workout buddy?
Sorry about the dog - it will probably all work out for the best. (And yes, I am cheesy as hell.)

Congrats on the loss of the X! I’m still in that middle zone where some L’s are good but some X’s are better. I can’t wait to see what it feels like to permanently ditch it!
I’ll just have to live vicariously through you for now!

You are awesome. I thought this was going to be a post about porn but it’s even better. Well, almost even better. Posts about porn are pretty hard to top. But then again, if it was about porn I guess it would have been about you losing your porn and that just would have been sad. Never mind. This post is much better than one about losing porn.

Yaaaaaaaaaay! Congrats - that is a fabulous milestone. I, too, understand about Mylie, and I hope along with you that someone kind and patient found her. I hope that Thomas is okay - not just his face, but his attitude toward dogs. I have a lifelong wariness of big dogs because I was knocked over in the snow & pretty much sat on by one at age 5. Thankfully it was being friendly, but I didn’t know that at the time.

p.s. sorry about mylie. of COURSE you know it’s killing me to know there’s a dog out there with unknown whereabouts (KILLING ME). but you’re right about not wanting your kids to be in a dangerous situation with one.

I agree about Mylie and biting, it would be the last straw. I hope she found a good home somewhere and is off the streets.
