Tonight’s run was an accomplishment. The goal Homie G set for the relay was 8K in an hour. I did 8.1K in 62 minutes so I’m guessing I need a new goal for the race? Maybe 8K in 50 minutes?
I LOVED parts of tonight’s run. Though it was cold in the beginning and my left ankle and shins were bugging me so I found it hard to settle into my run. Once we hit near the halfway mark, we were in an interesting part of town. I love the old houses in that area, and then we ran through this tunnel and I felt so alive. It’s really an indescribable feeling. I was listening to upbeat hip hop as I ran through that tunnel full of graffiti and it made me run faster for a bit - I felt so tough! (I know, corny…but hey - whatever works)
As soon as I turned the corner out of the tunnel, the sun was there. It sat, sinking into the tree line, which was filled with colour and life. It was absolutely warm and beautiful.
That little red mark is about where I reluctantly turned my back on the sun and headed back. I hope to do that course again.
The only thing I want now is this, (in pink!) because 8K without water kind of sucked somewhat.
Last week, Sarah sent me an Amazon gift certificate and I got an armband for my ipod and a Biggest Loser cookbook! Thanks Sarah!
Oh and on the weekend, Daren took me out to see his friend’s band play and when I got dressed in my jeans, they were looser. So I grabbed a belt (duh) and when I did it up, I could get it 2 more holes further without sucking anything in. So yeah, running? Is working. I can’t wait to see my next measurements with G.
More goals?
- Size 6 by my brother’s wedding (Aug 31 - I’m a bridesmaid!);
- A half marathon by October (in Niagara Falls, maybe with Nat!)
What are your body goals?

I started my running training this week. I’m not much into the losing weight since I’m borderline underweight, but more on the toning of the muscles. I hope that I’ll be able to run the 5km in July, without passing out and ultimately the 10km in October.

Dude! You need a fuel belt. Definitely need some sort of water/gatorade holder. (I always run with water in summer. It’s just super muggy.)
Very tempted by Niagara Falls. The decision is the Half or the Full… Hmmmm… I’ll let you know.

My first running class begins on May 22. After that one concludes, I’ll be taking a half-marathon training class that begins in July. The goal is to run a half marathon in Detroit in October.
My long term goal is to lose weight and get fit.
I enjoy reading about your progress! It encourages me to get up off my rear and DO something about the slob I’ve become.

You kick serious ass. That’s terrific.
My goals? Start running. Do a 5K by fall. Lose 30 lbs to get back to a comfortable size. Feel strong and healthy again.

My main goal is to get right in my head so that instead of sitting on the couch flipping through the channels and complaining that there is nothing on I can actually get off my fat ass and walk on the treadmill again.
Once I accomplish that feat (which I’ve been working on for three months even though I feel totally guilty for not doing) then my goal is to lose 30 lbs and get back to my wedding size of 147 lbs and hopefully, get to a point where I can actually run because I think it would feel sooooo good but I can’t walk and talk without running out of breath right now.
Pathetic. Congrats to you for setting a goal and achieving it.

I would love to wear a size 6 comfortably from almost any store! My number goal is 130, which is 13 more pounds and I think that would put me in my size. I have been walking/jogging more adn it is kind of frustrating because my scale is not going down, but I have had many people comment about how I am still losing so maybe it is coming off in inches instead. I’m hoping! congrats on your run tonight. You are such an inspiration!

I love that you run around in circles and all, but seriously, if it is painful…shouldn’t you find another hobby like stabbing yourself with daggers? Or self mutilation maybe?
Okay I am kidding. I am just jealous because I can’t run to the mailbox and back.
My goal is to keep up on my pilates routine, and get toned and make the muffin top disappear. I would like to get my stamina back, but that have more to do with my migraine meds than exercise. So if you keep running I will keep pilating. (That word sounds silly.)
Good luck with the Niagra marathon. I would come and watch but the thought of that place scares the bejeezus out of me!!

First, don’t you love that googlemaps app? I do! And I don’t even run. (though it’s nice for planning long walks with the dogs).
I finally hit my one biggest fitness goal today. I’ve been working toward it for 18 months. I am now in a healthy body fat range at 28%.
My goal: 24% by BlogHer.
Since I’m more of a gym-rat weight person than a runner.. my other goals:
1 pushup for each year of my age by September. (I did 30.. with a little assistance a couple weeks ago).
1 unassisted pull-up by the end of the year.
Stand on one foot with my eyes closed for 20 seconds.
