Rusagro announces the appointment of a new head of the Sugar business
On April 1, 2022, Sergey Goryachev was appointed General Director of Rusagro’s sugar business. Previously, Sergey was an advisor to the Managing Director of the Oil and Fats business.
Sergey will continue developing and implementing the Sugar business strategy, including raw material purchasing and capacity loading, launching innovative products in line with global sugar reduction trends , the strengthening of the company’s market positions, as well as the continuous improvement of customer service and digitization. .
Sergey made his career at Rusal, where in 2018 he was appointed Executive Director of OK Rusal’s Downstream Division with a billion dollar turnover and 9,000 employees. Among his main achievements in this position, Sergey describes the development and implementation of business unit strategy, including production capacity expansion projects, merger and acquisition agreements, optimization of the products and the expansion of sales markets, the successful acquisition and integration of three companies with a turnover of 200 million dollars, as well as the launch of new products in Russia, the United States, the European Union and Southeast Asia.
Sergey graduated from the Moscow State University MV Lomonosov with a specialization in geochemistry and the Financial University of the Government of the Russian Federation. In 2017, he earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
